alcove office

A successful mother of three and recalcitrant packrat asked me to help her with her tiny office.

She is the president of her co-op board as well as her own recruiting company.  She runs the show in an apartment with four men, three of them under the age of 6. With no time and little interest in going it alone, she hired me to organize her office in a basement alcove.  First we had to excavate it.

Every surface was covered and every space was stuffed.  I began to dig and she began, reluctantly, to shred.  Then she left and I put things back together without spending a dime on materials.  I found 9 Metrocards.

We continued working our way through the 4 bedroom duplex and its backyard reorganizing every closet, designing a few plantings using found containers and even tidied up a crowded, derelict fishpond.
